22 Hillside Terrace (formerly Hillside Ave.). The Firehouse (top photograph, right side) was home to Great Kills Hook & Ladder & Engine Company No. 1 from 1905 to 1926, when it was replaced by FDNY Engine Co. 162 and H&L Co. 82 on Nelson Ave. The building was remodeled for Christ Lutheran Church (bottom photo) which remained until the 1950s, later it became the home of Great Kills Community Center, and finally, home to Knights of Columbus, Council #1662 (inset). The building is extant(!)
